Measure the diameter. Straight across.
Add your desired drop length twice. (Times 2).
Example:
Your table is 48 inches in diameter.
You want a 12 inch drop all around.
12x2=24 plus 48 = 72
72 ROUND is your tablecloth size

Add your desired drop to the width twice (Times 2).
Add your desired drop to the length twice. (Times 2).
Example:
Your table is 48 inches by 66 inches.
You want a 12 inch drop all around.
12x2=24 plus 48 = 72
12x2=24 plus 66 = 90
70 x 90 OVAL is your tablecloth size.

60 inch SQUARE is your tablecloth size.
You will probably need to select a cloth size that is close to your measurements. The only tablecloths made to size use all-over designs.
Typical drop is 10 to 12 inches. Formal drops are 15 inches or more.
Using a oblong/rectangle shape on an oval table looks fine as long as the drop length is not too long. Your oval will have the corner points similar to a oblong on an oblong.
