• Madras is a very fine Leno weave, one of the most luxurious sheer fabrics ever woven.
• 14 Point, woven on authentic Nottingham looms.
• The Gleneagle Madras pattern is one of a kind. The design is woven into the ground by a jaquard mechanism, leaving some of the weft yarn floating between the pattern. This weft yarn is then removed by passing the cloth through a clipping machine, leaving the pattern outline on the very fine background cloth.
• It takes a skilled weaver one full day to produce approximately 10 yards of Madras. To cater for todays discerning tastes the looms have been specialized to allow our design team the flexibility to create Madras in any variety of colour and yarn combinations.
• Machine Wash Gentle. Cool Water. No Bleach. Before lace is dry, stretch gently to retain width and length. Cool iron if desired.
